WHO: The name is Steven "SteveOramA" Wilson and graphic design is my game. Son to Steve and Ina Wilson, friend to many great people, and designer to many great clients. Grand Prize Winner of the 1800 Tequila Essential Artists 2009 competition and 2nd Place Winner of the Quiksilver Clothing Design A Difference competition.
WHAT: I mainly focus on apparel and product design but I also dabble in many other areas such as: websites, flyers, brochures, business cards, album artwork, tattoos, painting, drawing, sculpting, and photography.
WHEN: I've been constantly involved with some form of art ever since I was a litle kid. It's only until a few years ago that I decided to share my creations with the world under the artist name SteveOramA. I will continue to draw, paint, sculpt, or craft something new on a daily basis.
WHERE: I'm currently living in sunny San Diego, California. I recently moved from Honolulu, Hawaii after being there for over 7 years. I've lived in or visited every state of the USA, been to over 10 Central/South American countries, vacationed in Canada and Mexico, and sailed to many islands of the Carribean and Gulf of Mexico. My message to the rest of the world: Here I come!
WHY: Because it's simply what I love to do. I believe that if you have a passion for something you should explore it's possibilities and see where it will take you. It's worked out for me so far and I'll continue to do it for many years to come.
What inspires your work? As simple as it sounds, everyday life. Whatever I am surrounded by and where ever I end up is usually how I gain inspiration to create art. Something will just click in my head and make me think that I should design something or explore a certain subject. Hanging out with friends, going exciting places, and doing fun things are a big part of the subject matter for the things I create.
How would you describe your art style? I don't have only one distinct style. I try to change it up as much as I can. It depends on the piece I'm working on and the certain feel I'm trying to go for or portray. I can do a rough, dark lined, sketched style or I can switch it up and show a cartoon, clean, vector style.
